Do you think a 'RAGE' virus as shown in the films 28 days later/28 weeks later can become a reality?

Do you actually think a 'RAGE' virus can become a reality in the future? Depending on what some mad scientists come up with and experiment with who knows. As they say, ANYTHING is possible.
'Rage' is real. a 'Virus' is real so who's not to say that a 'rage virus' can become a reality?
I did some research and found there's an actual similar like small scale 'rage' virus called "grisi siknis" which broke out in a village in central or South America. If you google 'grisi siknis' you will see! It sounds scary.
If a small scale virus like that can happen then anything can happen. It will only take a few more years for the virus to become stronger and effective like most alway do.
Viruses and illnesses are becoming more dangerous and contagious i.e. rabies, aids, and much more recently the newly found birdflu/SARS virus outbreak and that's just the beginning. Living in a world with nuclear/biological and chemical weapons doesn't help our living standards either.
what do you reckon!?..
Answer:
It seems unlikely anything could transform the personality as quickly as "rage" does in the films which would completely change the spread of the virus.
"Rage" is protrayed as a haemorrhagic fever in the film, and other real world haemorrhagic fevers tend to have very lethal but limited outbreaks partly because the people carrying the virus are rapidly completely disabled and spread is more difficult.
The most sucessful viruses in evolutionary terms are viruses like HPV or CMV which cause little pathogenicity but chronically infect the host and eventually become virtually ubiquitous in the population.
I suppose that with genetic engineering it's possible. Scary thought, huh?
if you actually did just a little more research closer to the realm of reality you'd see that the "rage" virus is very close to that of untreated rabies in humans, only real difference between the rage virus and rabies is possibly the life expectancy.
