Do you think I acted safe?

I made out with my boyfriend last week.( I'm gay)
We kissed and hugged. We were half-naked. I did not take off my pants, while he stayed in his underwear. But we kissed and hugged a lot . Am I at any risk?
Answer:
you should be ok, although some drs think you can get HIV from heavy kissing. also, you can get herpes from kissing too.
i'm not expert but no. unless he has oral herpes, but i guess you'd knwo that
HPV and herpes can be transmitted easily when no symptoms are present. HPV not only can live on any part of the body, it also lives on the hair and surrounding tissue of the groin area and cannot be detected. It's estimated that over 90% of the population has HPV. Not all are the deadliest strains. Some strains cause cancer. Not only cervical cancer but neck, head, anal and oral cancers are associated with HPV.
depends on if he has any oral herpes or not.

Do you think Flonase or Nasonex is a better nasal spray? What is the difference between the 2?

Answer:
The difference doesn't matter, because every person is different. Flonase didn't work for me at all, while Nasonex just barely keeps my symptoms at bay. One person may be immune to one but not he other. You would have to try each yourself and judge it on how effective it is to you.
try them both and see what you think
Flonase for sure!!

Do you think Diabetes is a greater epidemic than heart disease?

i'm aware they're related but not entirely the same. What do you think?
Answer:
Firstly, neither disease is an epidemic...communicable to others. Of the two disease entities, Heart disease is more of a concern as it is more difficult to manage. Diabetes on the other hand is becoming more manageable virtually daily with both injectable and oral medications. The pancreas produces insulin( the cause of diabetes is an imbalance in the amount of insulin produced) but has no direct relation to cardic pathology. Heart Disease has many forms and can range from poor cardiac output to a myocardial infarction so the term is vague. Most patients with diabetes mellitus can have a fairly normal life span, but a cardiac disease can have ominous overtones.
with the obesity problem in the states yes i do..more kids are now found to have diabetes earlier then ever before..people need to teach their kids how to eat halthy or they are condeming them to die
if u visit this site u can get good answers about ur questions.
http://thediabeteszone.com/.
Diabetes is the third leading cause of death in America today.
^ Yes, diabetes seems to be on the rise, it seems more adults and children are getting diabetes, especially type 2. There was a time when type 2 was seen in adults and if children had diabetes they most likely had type 1, unfortunately way to many children now have type 2 and some people have type 3 which is a combination of 1 and 2, I read an article about type 3 about a year ago, sorry I don't remember which medical publication I saw it in.There can be so many compilations when you have diabetes, heart disease is only one of them.

Do you think coma Patients hear what you say subconsciously?

Answer:
On the world news I heard of a man in what I think was Lituaina[?] That was in a coma for 19 years and awoke to to a changed world.Communisium was gone there were more things to buy,He had 23 grand and great grand children! His wife took care of him at home all that time standing by her man!Loving %26 caring for him.I think people in coma state DO HEAR they just cannot respond until the brian heals it,s self..
Yes
YES!! / they say the hearing / is the last to go / and i believe that 100 %
Hotdogsarefree is right. The hearing is the last sense to go and there have been reported cases where people wake up from their coma and remember what was said to them.
Hearing IS the last sense to go, and it is the first sense to come back. Many comatose patients will report what they heard while they were in a coma. It is quite similar to being asleep, and you can still hear things when you are sleeping can't you?

Do you think cholesterol is real?

i went to the free clinic and he say i have high chorlesterol is chorlestrol real or does he want just to give meds away. should i go and pick up the meds for cholesterol there free but i think cholesterol is fake
Answer:
wow r u serious?? yes cholesterol is real! go eat cheerios
Watch when you get high cholesterol...
First of all, to do cholesterol test, you must be fasting for 14 hours before the test. If you were not, the test is incorrect !Second of all, if you are under 30 years old, you have nothing to worry about it. Next time when you go to your doctor for a check up, he will find it if you do have a problem.
Of course. My mother certainly has high chosteral and is causing tons of problems for her. Apparently, it seems involved with a thyroid disease she has.If you don't trust your doctor, find a different one and take another chosteral test. And take the meds if you have high or low chosteral.Chosteral is kind of like hihg/low blood sugar.
no
of course is real what do you think do what you doc say and don,t eat to much fries foods

Do you think a 'RAGE' virus as shown in the films 28 days later/28 weeks later can become a reality?

Do you actually think a 'RAGE' virus can become a reality in the future? Depending on what some mad scientists come up with and experiment with who knows. As they say, ANYTHING is possible.
'Rage' is real. a 'Virus' is real so who's not to say that a 'rage virus' can become a reality?
I did some research and found there's an actual similar like small scale 'rage' virus called "grisi siknis" which broke out in a village in central or South America. If you google 'grisi siknis' you will see! It sounds scary.
If a small scale virus like that can happen then anything can happen. It will only take a few more years for the virus to become stronger and effective like most alway do.
Viruses and illnesses are becoming more dangerous and contagious i.e. rabies, aids, and much more recently the newly found birdflu/SARS virus outbreak and that's just the beginning. Living in a world with nuclear/biological and chemical weapons doesn't help our living standards either.
what do you reckon!?..
Answer:
It seems unlikely anything could transform the personality as quickly as "rage" does in the films which would completely change the spread of the virus.
"Rage" is protrayed as a haemorrhagic fever in the film, and other real world haemorrhagic fevers tend to have very lethal but limited outbreaks partly because the people carrying the virus are rapidly completely disabled and spread is more difficult.
The most sucessful viruses in evolutionary terms are viruses like HPV or CMV which cause little pathogenicity but chronically infect the host and eventually become virtually ubiquitous in the population.
I suppose that with genetic engineering it's possible. Scary thought, huh?
if you actually did just a little more research closer to the realm of reality you'd see that the "rage" virus is very close to that of untreated rabies in humans, only real difference between the rage virus and rabies is possibly the life expectancy.

Do you think "getting sun" can be a cure for acne?

I used to have acne when I stayed home all day and never went outside. I have had it for 3-4 years. 2 months ago I started spending more time outside and started getting a tan. Not only did it hide it a little, but it has almost got rid of it. And it also got me thinking that you never really see anyone with a nice tan have acne. You do on occastion but very rarily. What do you think?
Answer:
the sun dries up the face and can reduce acne outbreaks. every summer my face looks better than it did in the winter/early spring. The only problem is, the sun can also really damage your skin... while you may only notice the pimples disappearing at this moment, you may later see how they have left brown/red scarring, which is made worse from sun exposure. discoloration is also a problem caused by too much sun exposure.if you want to use the sun as an aid in getting rid of your acne, i suggest going outside for no longer than one or two hours a day, and not at the peak heat times (from like 1-4 depending on where you live). you should wear an excellent, not commedagenic sunscreen that will block the more harmul UV rays.try to do other stuff while outside rather than just laying out in the sun for the sole purpose of getting a tan/clearing acne. go swimming a lot this summer as well, because chlorine helps clear acne too! (I used to be on swim team and it always helped).good luck!!

Do you take Metformin for Insulin resistance?

If you take it, what side effects have YOU had personally? I know what the side effects are in the package warning, but I am curious to know what side effects people who are taking this medicine are having. Also, if you are taking birth control also, since the medication is only to help with insulin resistance, do you have any added side effects in combining the two medications
Answer:
I am a guy so I can't speak to the Birth control issues but I can tell you I think the most widely shared side effect is diarrhea. After that people complain of stomach pain and nausea. Those are the issues I read about the most. Also if you like to drink be careful. The combination of too much alcohol over time with Metformin can lead to lactic acidosis in your kidney's, that’s serious and can kill you. I quit drinking just in case. I have seen a few people say they get really upset stomachs after drinking. Others say they have had no problem. I personally only had an issue with the diarrhea. It can be rough the first few weeks, but after two or three weeks it went away. Most all the side effect go away with in a month you just have to hang in there.
ask your doctor. or an endocrinologist.

Do you take Metformin for insulin resistance?

If you take it, what side effects have YOU had personally? I know what the side effects are in the package warning, but I am curious to know what side effects people who are taking this medicine are having. Also, if you are taking birth control also, since the medication is only to help with insulin resistance, do you have any added side effects in combining the two medications?
Answer:
I have been on Metformin for 1 month and the first 2 days of taking it I had diaherria but other than that I am doing great on it, I don't have an appetite (but I still eat but I eat less) and I have lost 15 lbs. I feel great on it.
What are the possible side effects of metformin? Stop taking metformin and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives).
A small number of people who have taken metformin have developed a serious condition called lactic acidosis that has been fatal in up to 50% of cases. Lactic acidosis has occurred most often in people whose kidneys were not working properly. Liver problems may also increase the risk of developing lactic acidosis. Stop taking metformin and call your doctor immediately if you experience a feeling of general discomfort or sickness; weakness; sore or aching muscles; trouble breathing, unusual drowsiness, dizziness or lightheadedness; unusual or unexplained stomach upset (after the initial stomach upset that may occur at the start of therapy with metformin); or the sudden development of a slow or irregular heartbeat. These may be signs of lactic acidosis. Metformin does not usually cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Nevertheless, hypoglycemia may occur in the treatment of diabetes, as a result of skipped meals, excessive exercise, or alcohol consumption. Know the signs and symptoms of low blood sugar, which include hunger, headache, drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, a fast heartbeat, sweating, tremor, and nausea. Carry a non-dietetic candy or glucose tablets to treat episodes of low blood sugar.Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take metformin and talk to your doctor if you experience:nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhea at the start of therapy;
abdominal bloating or increased gas production; or
decreased appetite or changes in taste (metallic taste in your mouth).
Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
What other drugs will affect metformin? Metformin can interact with many other medicines and many medications may affect your condition. Do not take any other prescription or over-the-counter medicines or herbal products without first talking to your doctor or pharmacist.
i hope if u visit this site u can get good answers. http://thediabeteszone.com/
I take Metformin three times a day, and have had no side effects. I also am on insulin. The side effect from insulin is weight gain. I did not know know that until I complained to my doctor of weight gain, and she told me it was the insulin.
Watch out for the guy above me promoting a website which is a scam cure for diabetes.
Please flag him.
^ I took Metfromin when I was first diagnosed, it gave me headaches, I never had headaches like these before and I've had migraines. Needless to say I stopped taking it. I'm not on the pill, sorry can't help you there. I hope this helped.

Do you suffer from panic attacks? I do, but it's much better than when it first started.?

Would like to hear from people that really have this. I am curious as to when it first happened, what you thought when it did, and how you are coping.
Answer:
Catherine, I DID have panic, from onset at age 6 until I was in my late 40's. It came -and it went -and it came, and it went.Ultimately, with the right therapist, what I came to learn, or to believe, is this:1. There is "situational," panic, where the anxiety clearly relates to some circumstance which causes the panic. Change the circumstance and the panic goes away. An important exam, a bad marital problem, etc., are examples.2. There is panic brought on by phobic responses: spiders, fear of heights, etc.3. There is "chronic" panic that seemingly "comes out of nowhere," or, "out of the blue," as panic people will often say. Of course there ARE reasons -but they are hidden or repressed.I'm addressing folks in category 3; but be aware that the other types often go along with it.4. The susceptibility to panic probably has a genetic component, same as intelligence, good coordination or a predisposition to diabetes. There is ample research to support this idea.5. Age is related to onset and remission. The age ITSELF has nothing to do with it, but other changes that occur as we get older may increase or decrease vulnerability to panic.6. In my opinion -and I've had therapists agree with me on this- the genetic vulnerability to panic may at one time in the distant past, been an adapative advantage for prehistoric humans. The tendency to constantly check the surroundings and a high sensitivity to change may have made the first "panic victims" very good detectors of approaching danger (wild animals at night, enemy tribes approaching, etc.). Such people may have been regarded as very gifted by others, and possibly were elevated to "medicine man" or seer.7. Panic attacks are a way for the brain to cut through the emotional clutter in the same way a warning flare lights up the sky. They are telling you that "something is wrong." Find out what's wrong, and panic is no longer needed, psychologically, to get your attention. In your case, look at your life situation starting a year to 6 months before the onset of panic -then look at it after symptoms got better. What changed in your life? It need not be something catastrophic such as death of a loved one or a lost love; it could just as well be a creeping sense that all is not as it seems to be: someone is cheating on you, a child might have a drug problem (or might not) or your situation at work is really not going along as you expected or were promised. The "bigness" is measured not by the events or circumstances themselves, but rather by the size of their "emotional footprint." A stone may be tiny, but if it is lodged in your shoe, very painful and awkward to get rid of. This means that, as many victims have discovered, that the panic can be triggered by "stupid" things.8. Drugs -the right ones- can help by restoring your functionality socially and giving some emotional breathing room. But they are not enough. Talk therapy with a qualified person who also writes the prescription is the best combination.9. In my case, the onset of panic episodes was associated with challenges, since early childhood, that I was unable to meet to the satisfaction of my father -in MY MIND. My uneasiness with perceived expectations was later transferred onto authority figures -or those who might hold some power over me- and peers who I respected. The very earliest ideation -age 6- was fear of death. "What's going to happen to me?!" Imagine that, a 6 year old going through the same angst as Jean Paul Satre, fer Pete's sake! Long story short, the fear of death was an "allegory," it was fear of LIFE that was at issue. In later adult life, the anxiety transferred to situations where lack of control was an issue -such as flying, speaking before groups, etc. Finally, a bad job and marriage brought on spontaneous, "out of the blue" episodes that drove me to therapy, and in about 2 years I was out of the job and out of the marriage. The death of my mother played a part; because, without her love and support, my father turned to ME for emotional support and "steadiness." It was as though we two had returned to those early childhood days and taken a different path. He became MY dependent in some important ways. Through it all, mere awareness of the developmental background to my panic gave me an edge in self-understanding and self-acceptance. Life now is very different and very good.Your story, Catherine, will have twists and turns of its own -but doing the emotional archaeology will help you discover how you got here, and where to go.I'm betting -just betting- that you are of above-average intelligence. Fact: panic tends to occur more frequently among intelligent people. And that's also your edge -you've got the mental muscle to deal with it.What I can tell you is, that while you may receive tons of advice here on Yahoo about dealing with symptoms -everything from giving your life up to Christ to eating chocolate- what YOU want to deal with is underlying causes. Trust me: deal with those, and the panic will resolve itself.I'm available for more discussion at your pleasure, and I wish you well, Catherine.
First happened when I was about 15, on and off till about 26 when I started medication. I felt like I was going to die every time and nobody could talk any sense into me at those times. I have been on SSRI's for about 4 years for another problem and they have helped a little. Years of CBT has also helped me cope. I can now realise when a panic attack is coming on and take it for what it is.
My friend had a spell of panic attacks when she started having tension headaches and was prescribed Torredol. She decided on her own that Torredol was not enough so she took it with Excedrin and Sudafed. She also drank coffee shortly after (she's brilliant), had a bad reaction to the combination, and for the next month/month and a half was plagued by intense panic attacks. She began seeing a psychologist and soon enough she felt better.
More people have panic attacks than you can ever imagine. Mine started at a big dinner at work. I completely lost it, thought I was going to pass out, and had to leave. Afterwards I realized what my problem was. That incident kind of fed on future ventures, especially going out to eat without "safe" people.I am now on Prozac and Klonopin, and feel I can do anything! No more attacks and lots more happiness!Just remember that you will get better!

Do you sometimes know when a pimple is growing on your face?

I know when a pimple is growing on my face because I can feel it tingle on my face
Answer:
You don't always know. Sometimes they just sprout up and you don't know until you touch them or look in the mirror. But when you get the bigger ones, you know the ones that grow deeper under the skin, I can definitely feel those coming on. I don't feel a tingling feeling like you've mentioned, but that area will hurt a lot before I actually see a zit.

What is he up to now?
Answer:
your dad is outside my house now asking for loose change and a relatively clean nappy.i keep trying to tell him that varnish will only make you sick, not drunk, but he keeps drinking it.please take him away because whenever i call swampy to get his attention he just takes off his binbag and chases the squirrels, making strange monkey noises.when you do get the gibbon home please be sure to reassure him he IS human, and going to the toilet in a half eaten hotdog roll is not a main meal.

Do you recommend Nurtimin C for sunburns?

also, what else can it be used for, %26 how much does it cost?
Answer:
I've always liked Aloe Vera gel when I've gotten burned because it makes my skin feel cooler, and it's natural. Aloe Vera Gel has 12 natural substances that have been shown to inhibit inflammation without side effects. Probably best known as "the burn plant," Aloe Vera contains lignins which help it penetrate deeply into the skin to deliver its therapeutic effects. Aloe Vera is an effective pain reliever because it contains salicylic acid, the same pain killing agent found in aspirin. It also contains magnesium which helps prevent some of the damaging side effects of aspirin-type medications. Aloe Vera contains gibberlin and polysaccharides, which effectively decrease inflammation and promote healing. Two very important effects of Aloe Vera for burn sufferers are its ability to prevent blistering and its anti-scarring properties. You can find Aloe Vera at just about any store. Some of Nutriminc's uses:
- Renews skin surface while key RE9 elements target and deliver protection against oxidative stress.
- Promotes production of collagen, elastin and ground substance.

Do you personally USE a special brand of vitamin C serum for your complexion/SKINCARE?

and have you seen a difference as well after have used it?
Does it really matter what brand do you believe? I read that as long as it's in a brown glass bottle w/small mouth at the top that it should be sufficient . obviously w/a good concentrate of vitamin C, as well as good storage for the serum. anyway what were your results if any? thanks! :o)

Do you or does someone you know have allergies to meat.?

I am allergic to beef, pork, lamb, etc. Do you or anybody you know have this kind of allergies and if so what do you do about it. Is there a medicine that you can take for this.
Answer:
Yes, my son is allergic to all mainstream meat, poultry, pork, and lamb. If the allergy is IgE-mediated, then the only thing you can do is avoid eating the allergen. As an alternative to beef, you could try buffalo. It actually tastes a lot like beef.
I work with a lady who is allergic to processed meat, i.e. bologna, deli meat, hotdogs, etc. She just doesn't eat these types of meat. For her situation, there is no medicine.
I am allergic to chicken and turkey. I don't know of any medicine for it. I have to read labels and avoid it. It is amazing how many hot dogs and lunch meats contain poultry. I can eat other types of meat.
I'm allergic to seafood, fish, tuna, shrimp %26 I can't even touched any form of a minced meat form of fish such as a fishstick. I get itchy and my face and lips swell. Except for the minced meat type i have breathing problems too. Sorry theres no meds. However some allergy specialist are willing to do this method they give you a consecutive amount of shots for a certain amount of weeks or months of the actual allergen to build your body's immunity to the allergen and at the end your supposed to not be allergic anymore or close enough where the allergen is bearable to you. But it can be dangerous depending on how allergic you are.
I'm allergic to pork as well as fish and shellfish. There aren't any medications to take, you just have to avoid it and if you accidentally eat some, take a Benadryl as soon as you can.

Do you like Ivory bar soap?

It's the best soap I've ever used. I've use to have Acne really bad. Since I started using this soap, my pimples went away. Now I've got ZERO pimples! Incredible. The soap is uncented and doesn't make me itch like other soap I've used in the past.
Answer:
I have used it for years ,when i was younger my grandmother would buy it and let us carve things out of it to take a bath with ,it was so fun ,but your right about the acne thing it helps i think its because its 100% pure ingredients. I never had a acne problem when i was younger and thats the only soap i ever used on my skin . you bought back lots of memorys mentioning this .I thank you for that .
Yes mainly because it floats
ivory soap is a good soap and it smell' so good
It is by far the best bar soap for your face. But my body gets dove ;)
i like ivory soap, makes my skin soft. it also aids in keeping my acne down too. I sweat really bad at night and i get pimples in the summer time bad. I use ivory at night before bed and it helps out a little.
It's all I ever use.
I like Ivory and am glad you discovered it and love it. I never thought of using it on my face though, but will try it and also tell some teens I know that have acne problems.Though I really like Ivory, Dove and Caress are my favorites.Best Wishes!
yes! it's one of the best soaps!.. i use it because i'm a sensitive person with allergies and my doctor recommended mild and soaps. and so far, aside from the reason that it smells good, doesn't make me itch at all, moisturizes my skin,,... it also helped me a lot with my skin problems. though, it usually takes a person to like or be compatible with his or her soap, i'm just glad i am now used to the mild and nice-smelling soap which makes my skin flawless.
pshyea!! When I'm at my nana's house!! It's the best ever. Oh, but currently I'm using this free sample of Dove that cleans without over-drying OMG! There IS a God!
its not bad / but i prefer to use scented
nope i like dial

Do You Know...??

Do people nearby a person who smokes get affected coz of passive smoking even while the smoker is not smoking?
Answer:
of course!! because he is breathing the smoke too
No.
In an enclosed area, yes second hand smoke has been proven to affect those people not smoking actively.
There is usually a tobacco residue on the smoker and their breath, so yes.
Yes.. the smoke of the tobbaco when enters the lungs damages the lungs equally as it does to the smoker.
yes they do and they are more likely to get cancer before the smoker

Do You Know....??

Does passive smoking occur even while the smoker is not currently smoking? I mean...if someone is not smoking at some time, are the people nearby affected coz of his smoking habit?
Answer:
Yes.. the smoke of the tobbaco when enters the lungs damages the lungs equally as it does to the smoker.
Huh? Not sure what you mean? Let's say there is a smoker and they do smoke in their car--but someone gets in and the smoker doesn't light-up. As long as the smoker has rolled a window down a bit since the last cigarette, then there is NO second-hand smoke in the car. So, the other person could not be effected at all. The same with a home--if they smoke inside (most people don't anymore).
Now if you mean the smoker goes somewhere where no one has ever smoked and doesn't light-up there---then their smoking habit couldn't possibly effect anyone because there is no smoke. Here is some great information on second-hand smoke from the American Cancer Society:http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ped/conten...
I know i shouldn't answer this , but NO. How can they be affected other than the smell that may be on you.
WHAT?
Please see the web page for more details on Passive smoking.
The answer would be no generally speaking. However, if the smoker has recently smoked a cigarette and has not washed their hands, mouth or changed clothing - yes, it is still harmful to others.
We're talking toxic, invisible, yet harmful gases. So whether they can be seen, or if the chemical/smoke/toxins enter our bodies via portal entry (inclusive of skin) it doesn't matter...just the residue alone can harm others both directly and indirectly.I should also add that when a pregnant woman discusses the whole smoking 'situation/scenario' with her OB/GYN, they will tell them the same thing.
A person doesn't have to be around smoke or around a smoker while a cigarette is burning to endure second-hand smoke consequences.
Your unborn and/or newborn child is still harmed (by second hand smoke) even if you smoke in another area of the home, close off all the adjacent doors, smoke on the front porch, air out your vehicle before placing the child in the babyseat, blah blah blah.
The only way the baby can remain unharmed is for you to go outside to smoke, keep a separate item of clothin specifically for smoking, remove the item before allowing it to come into contact with furniture, baby's clothing and for God sakes - the baby, wash your hands, rinse your mouth, etc.THEN the baby shouldn't get any second-hand harm. Now, if you have a cold and you're hacking all over - don't smoke.you'll be releasing those toxins for a while before they're gone.
Yes.I've got children. Yes...years of pharmacy technician work. Yes...years of nursing under my belt. :)

Do you know what this lump in groin area could be?

I have a lump in my groin area which I first noticed six weeks ago. It does not hurt. It is pretty big. Could it just be an ingrown hair? It is right at the very top of my thigh close to the crease where the pelvic area starts. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I can not go to the doctor because I dont want to be weighed and my husband is furious with me. I am recovering from 10 years of anorexia and bulimia and I do not weigh myself and I can not get weighed at the doctor because if I don't like the number, I can spiral down into that eating disorder again. Has anyone had a lump like this lasting for six weeks. It is probably an ingrown hair. Thanks.
Answer:
There are lymph nodes located in that area that you are describing. An enlarged lymph node can mean many things, some more serious then others. However because it does not hurt, this can be alarming. Most lymphomas start out with painless enlarged lymph nodes. I don't mean to scare you it's just the fact of the matter. The only way for sure to know what is going on is to go see your doctor. Many times lymph nodes enlarge because of an infection, but lymph nodes are then usually tender or painful
penis
thats what it sounds like or it could be just a risin
It is most likely a inflamed lymph node.
May be caused by a small infection.
I have had ingrown hairs like that.
If you go to the doc and they want to weigh you, ask if you can face backwards, that way you can't see what the scale says.
Get your butt to the doctor and let him look at it. Tell them you don't want to be weighed and go from there .
It most likely is a lymph node, they are like reservoirs in your body, they inflate if you have an infection, or they can swell up if you shave in that region, also in thinner people they are more noticeable. It's pretty common, just watch for it's size, if it gets any larger I highly recommend going to the doctor. Best of luck.
Go to the doctor. Tell him to not tell you your weight.
sounds to me very much like an inguinal hernia. does it hurt when you press it? does it hurt when you strain to lift something up? if so, it's probably an inguinal hernia.

Do you know what this eye disease is called?

I was told it causes thinning of the walls of the eyeball and leads to blindness in the eye. It's not contagious. The name may contain the letters "kepta" or "cypta" in it.That's all I know.

Do you know what caused this rash?

I have this spread out kinda rash with small red bumps on my arm. None of them are touching each other. I hasn't spread and a few of them are weeping like poison ivy does.It isn't really itchy but it burns sometimes.
Answer:
maybe you are allergic to something
like food, lotions or creams
could be impetigo
could be anything , take a benedryl
My friend just had that sounds very similar. She was determined it was from the tanning bed, however her dr. said it was just allergies. Try washing the area with soap and water...ivory soap or something that doesn't have dyes and scents added. Rinse well and pat dry. Also take some benadryl and see if that helps...if it doesn't you should see a dr. if it's still there by Monday.
Sounds to me like you may be experiencing a food intolerance reaction.
Have you been eating anything that you normally don't eat; like recently introduced to your daily diet?
A fast way to deal with this (if that is the case) is to NOT eat those foods that you notice a reaction from after you've eaten them. Stick to a basic diet of proteins, vegetables, and take a daily suppliment to proof your body up against viruses and infections (include a big dose of vitamin C)
If you KNOW it's not some new food you've been eating and are still worried; why not get a diagnosis from a doctor? At least you won't be worrying yourself into a flat spin! Good luck and also try eating some non-sugared yogurt daily (this will improve the condition from the inside)
When does it burn? Like when your skin gets warm or sweaty? It sounds like it could be heat rash or contact dermatitis. Contact dermatitis happens when you wash your clothes or body and don't get all the soap off.For relief try medication for rashes like Gold Bond. You could also try putting ice on it.Don't put ice directly on your skin. Also, rinse your body in as cool water as you can stand.Don't use soap or shampoo.just rinse off...Drip dry if you can just in case the soap didn't come out of your towel when it was washed. Wear something you haven't wore in awhile so you know that you won't be wearing something that has soap stuck in it.If the rash spreads or the bumps get bigger or are accompanied by fever, coughing, dizziness, seizures, shortness of breath or severe muscle ache or tingling, contact your doctor immediately. If your symptoms don't improve in 2-3 days, make an appointment with your doctor.

Do you know someone that has Lupus?

Answer:
Yes, I know many people with it, including myself. I own and operate a lupus support group, and have personally been diagnosed with it for 12 years, though symptoms began in me in my early teens. If those symptoms started today, and not in the late seventies/early 80's I probablly would have been diagnosed much sooner. As the owner of a group for people with Lupus and other auto immune diseases I see it at all different levels, from mild to rather serious.I'm not quite sure what your looking for, is it reassurance, answers, support? But I can tell you some of our memebers still work, some dont, many of us have children, who are fine, we all go through flares and remmisons. In my case (I have a moderate to severe case) I can be rather ill for up to 8 months then I get treatment, and can be rather healthy for a good year or so. Lupus can be decently controlled with a good doctor, good medicines, and avoidence of certain triggers. My last flare was being exposed to mold unkowingly, and has been difficult, but Im getting better and moving this week. For most of us, our life spans can be expected to be very close to normal 70-80 for a female. That is with proper medical care and a decent diet.I hope this helped
Chris
yes, my cousin had it she died of it 3 year ago at the age of 28, why? u have it?
yes, my aunt has it.
yes it is not fatal and very treatable it is a form of arthritis. many different meds are available for many symptoms. see a roomatologist as soon as possible. the sooner you start the faster you will feel better
Yes my friend as well as I have it. I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Kidney disease!! That is hell!! But I tell myself it could always get worse...
No, but I have rheumatoid arthritis. A great website to check out is WWW.arthritis.org and if possible for you become a member of the Arthritis Foundation. Through them you can find support groups and self-help groups as well as water and land based activities.
Yes, it is tough living with pain but life is worth living it and God is good.
I have lupus. For all of us, please go to www.lupus.org, click on the take action link and email your Senators and Representative asking them to co-sponsor the Lupus REACH Amendments H.R. 1192

Have you been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease or are you just shaky? Caffeine, alcohol withdrawal, extreme dieting can all make you shaky.

Do you know of a site that explains diabetes in simple terms to children?

Answer:
Not sure about a website but a really good book by Dr. Peter Chase of the Barbara Davis Center. I think it is called (or has been nicknamed) "The Pink Panther Book".
Found a website with the book on it:
http://www.uchsc.edu/misc/diabetes/ud11.
These look like a couple of pretty good sites; the second one has a comic book. Hope it helps.http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/managin...http://medgadget.com/archives/2007/05/ki...
Here's an article about a game that teaches kids about diabetes:

Do you know how to remove those marks on your face after removing a pimple?

Its like little holes what do u call them pores? can u cover them or fill them there like on my checks i want them off can u help?
Answer:
I have the exact same thing and I had dermabrasion 3x also some laser skin resurfacing, I paid 1500 dollars each time for the dermabrasion and 1200 for the resurfacing and I am not happy with the results. I just read about a woman that had micro silicone injections that says she is VERY happy with the results (she also had the dermabrasion and resurfacing and was'nt happy) I guess they're filling these things in now which I'm looking into because sanding the skin down did'nt work for me. Maybe contact dermatologist about fillers good luck
use sand
Take a chopped tomato, 1 tbsp instant oatmeal, and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Blend until combined. Apply thick enough mixture to skin, leave for 10 min. then rinse with warm water.

I think theyy're called pock marks. I think youre popping your pimples the wrong way or doing it too early if you get those. I know laser surgery can help lessenor rid acne scars, but pock marks sound like they would need to be treated differently. Maybe a make up concealer?
You can't remove pores, they are all over your body.If your cheeks have pock marks from repeated acne, you need to see a dermatologist or skin specialist for dermabrasion to reduce the damage.
now that you made a mess of ur face.. u'll need a lot of patience and some herbs in u kitchen to set it right.. it took me 6 months to get my normal skin back.. but now i ue it regularly even though i have no pimples.. and i have great skin. cleanse ur face with unboiled milk every morning.
apply a paste of hlf a lemons juice a tspn honey a pinch of neem leaf powder or neem paste and a lill milk on ur face.. leave on for 10 mins and wash off.. it's gonna tingl a lot.. but let it be.

Do you know anything about non-hodgkins lymphoma?

I have had a large lump in the groin area for at least 8 weeks. Finally went to doctor today and he says that this is what he thinks I have and I have lots of tests to go for. I had to leave because my baby was crying and I did not get all of the information. Part of me just wants to forget this and not go back and not have the tests and not tell my husband. I thought it was just a cyst or ingrown hair or something. Did anyone ever here of this or know anything about this.
Answer:
I have Non Hodgkins, I was diagnosed in March of 2004, I also had the node in the groin, which raised the flag.
Go back for the tests and please share with your husband and other family members.
They will have to do a biopsy of the node to determine what type of NHL you have, this will help in determining what type of treatment your Dr will recommend. You will need to have a PET Scan or CT Scan possibly both to see if any other areas of your body are involved.
Treatment options vary depending on the Type and Stage. You might be in the Watch and Wait if its not aggressive, there are so many various treatment options and while it is not considered curable it is very treatable. There are alot of new treatments in the pipeline. With good family support the treatments are doable. You will survive this. Keep strong and when you go to see your Dr again , see if you can get a babysitter and take someone with you so that while you ask questions, the person with you can keep note of the answers
Good Luck and God Bless
Check this website...http://www.oncologychannel.com/nonhodgki...You should be concerned but it sounds like they can't be sure until they do a biopsy. I hope everything will be just fine.good luck!
Doing nothing is a guaranteed death sentence. For your baby's sake, you had better get it treated ASAP.
Listen to Rob. I was going to post very similar answer. Even if you attachement parent, it is very important to have someone else care for your baby while you are talking to the doctor. Take someone with you to listen and take notes because you won't remember it all yourself. If you don't want to leave your baby with someone, then take another person who can keep the baby occupied at your appointment so you can focus. If you are breastfeeding, then nurse your baby during your appointment. Your baby will be happy and you will be able to focus.

Do you know anyone with cancer who was given a short time to live whose cancer went into remission?

I'm needing to hear some miracles, please. Thank you!
Answer:
In 2000 I was given 0% with less than a month to live. I was in remission 18 months when I was told I had a reoccurance. The cancer is a very rare, very aggressive cancer. I was told that no one has been able to go and stay in a second remission. By the time the reoccurance was found it had spread and they told me I had less than a month. I told them God gave me a miracle to go into remission before and he can do it again! They said it would take a miracle because no one has ever been able to make it into a second remission. I told them, somebody's got to be the first and I'm going be the first, I'm going to get a miracle!
I have a lot of faith and a big believer in the power of prayer.
I have been in remission ever since!
I was also born legally blind. My parents prayed for years that God would heal my eyes. When I was going through my radiation treatment, it caused cataracts in my eyes. I had to go through surgery for that. Now I have 20/20 vision.
Also, because of the large amount of radiation I received to my head and neck area, the doctors said that I would never be able to scream or sing again which broke my heart because I loved to sing. I used to go to some local churches and sing. Months went by following my treatment and still I couldn't sing. I would put a tape in the player and I could not get one note out. I could talk but I couldn't sing or scream. I prayed every day that God would give me back my voice so I could sing again. My dream was always to be able to sing to my husband on our wedding day. That day was approaching and still no voice. I kept praying every day, God please give me back my voice so I can sing again. My voice came instantly the day before I was married! What's funny is that I still can't scream. I told my mom, I didn't pray that I could scream, I only prayed that I could sing!
I could go on and on of how good God's been to me. I am very blessed!
Sadly, I dont.but if its you, I'll be happy to pray for you or your loved one. Also, try faith in God, its the only way a miracle comes about.
Yes, I have a sister in law who was given 9months to a year to live. She had tumors on her spine and lower abdomen. She never had any surgery, she had chemo and radiation. She also had something where they take your blood out and "wash" it or something. Anyway, that was 25yrs ago. She is still alive, she has gone in and out through all these years. It became more of a health issue, like high blood pressure, to her. When she was given the news, she was very angry and loud. She yelled and screamed and fought it. I think that's part of her survival, she never gave in, she has fought and lived her life.
Yes, I do. My friend's mom was diagnosed with a very rare form of breast cancer. Supposedly only 5-10% of breast cancer victims developed this particular strain. Anyway, she was diagnosed in September and told she probably wouldn't make it to Christmas. That was in 2001. She just got remarried last summer. She underwent the cemo and radiation, but also mixed that with some holistic therapy. I don't know everything she did, but I know she took around 15,000 mgs of vitamin c every day. Studies have proven vitamin c kills cancer cells. There are a lot of little things like that, when mixed with your treatments, that can improve your chances. I know it must be hard, but they say a positive attitude helps. I know my friend's mom did yoga and meditated. My thoughts are with you. Of course, miracles happen every day!
Yes, it happens all the time because no one, not even the doctors know how long an individual will live . . even ones with cancer. You would think doctors would stop making these types of pronouncements. There are plenty of miracles out there and there is no reason why one of them couldn't come to you.Peace and hope.
I'll tell you my miracle story. When I was 10 months old in 1983, while my parents were in Hawaii on vacation, I developed a cancer called Neroblastoma (spelling may be off). It was stage 4 when we discovered it with stage 5 being the worst it could possibly be. I did eventually reach stage 5. At the low point I was given less than a 5% chance to survive. There were 4 other children in my pediatric ward with the same illness and none of them survived. I received multiple rounds of Chemo and Radiation and countless surgeries all to no avail... One morning I woke up and looked 100 times better than I had before (this is all what my parents tell me as I am too young to remember). I went in to the doctor that day for scans and every single bit of my cancer was gone. It almost literally disappeared overnight. When I was 11 years old, I got my 2nd bout of cancer. This one was called Rencal Cell Carcinoma. It is mainly an adult cancer (35+) and doctors are still baffled as to how I might have contracted it. I had sharp and horrible stomach pain one night and went into the doctors for treatement. The local doctors thought it was a rurptured appendix but recommended I get checked out in San Francisco by my oncologist due to my past health issues. I go down there for my checkup and sure enough I have the renal cell cancer, which is a cancer of the kidney. I had my left kidney completely removed along with a portion of my right kidney. I caught that one really early thanks to my mom being paranoid about any illness after my first cancer. I now survive just fine on a patrial kidney and do not need any additional machines or anything to live. I play sports, martial arts, work, read, fish, love and do everything else like a normal human being. Sometimes life gives people hardships and you have to do your best to turn that into something good. I was never once afraid during my cancer bout, I had a underlying mentality inside me that knew I would beat these diseases no matter what happened. My parents of course were terrified but I never had the fear. I now value life much more and know it can be taken from you any moment for no reson.I hope this is similiar to what you were looking to find. Good luck to everyone out there with a seemingly impossible disease or situation. The power of positive thinking can do amazing things, although good doctors cetrainly help a ton :) If anyone ever feels they need to talk with someone, a survivor, I am always available to anyone. Email me at lpgmac@hotmail.com -- be sure to make the subject line stand out or I might think it is spam... Take care all !
Yes, I know a man alive and in remission for over ten years with very aggressive lymphoma of the worst type (can't remember what type that is off hand) Also a man who lived for several years after a very large brain tumorAlso a good friend who has been alive for several years with peritoneal cancer which usually is fatal soon in its course"Remission" is usually a term associated with blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma, not with solid tumors. Different terminology is used for the solid tumors. Usually in breast cancer, for example, they say you are NED or have no evidence of disease, but there is really no such thing as remission in breast cancer.I have also read many stories of children who had some type of very aggressive tumor that went away, sometimes spontaneously! I have seen television shows about this, too, where they showed the evidence. There are miracles. They are not the norm but they do happen. Good luck to you.

Do you know anyone wit diptheria or do you have diptheria?

I need it for a class project i need at lease 30 people. so help out :)
Answer:
A vaccination against it was developed decades ago, and it has been a required immunization for babies for as long as I can remember. If you find anyone who had it, they'd have to be pretty old. You'd have a lot more luck with diabetes or something like that.
I have to wonder where you are located and what kind of class project this could be? In the US we have very few cases of diptheria because of the immunizations that children receive when they are under a year of age. Why do you need people with active cases? Or are you looking for people who have had it and recovered??

Do You Know Anyone Who Has Experienced Brachial Plexus Palsy?

Someone very close to me has just shared that his baby of four weeks has been diagnosed with Brachial Plexus Palsy. The baby has no movement on her right arm or hand.
Answer:
Most brachial plexus injuries are of the Erb’s type, and usually mild. These are expected to recover over 3 to 4 months. The more severe injuries may take 18 to 24 months to recover. It is important while waiting for recovery, that the child be placed on physical therapy. Gentle range of motion exercises and electrical stimulation of muscles need to be performed regularly to keep the joints of the arm supple, and prevent atrophy.By the age of 3 months, if there is no improvement of movement of the arm, and it remains flail, a myelogram or MRI may be ordered to evaluate the status of the brachial plexus. If the myelogram or MRI shows a tear of the brachial plexus, consideration may be given to perform a repair and nerve graft. This is recently popularized in Europe, and results appear to be promising. Some centers in the U.S are also getting encouraging results with this difficult problem.it's very possible the baby will recover. I've enclosed a link where you can learn more about this condition.

Do you know anyone who had Juvenile arthritis and actually grew out of it?

Answer:
Yes I have a distance Cousin by Marriage who had serious JA and glad to report when he became 18 it burnt itself out. He is now working on a building site.
However his Father took him swimming every morning at 7am!
you dont grow out of it..it just starts sooner and lasts all your life
Most people will grow out of Juvenile onset rheumatoid arthritis. It is brought about by a - temporary - infection, the patient being able to resume a normal life once the infection is resolved.Adult onset rheumatoid arthritis is quite different as it usually develops during the late teens or early twenties and rapidly settles into a chronic, debilitating infection. There are a few hundred types of arthritis and rheumatic diseases. The good news is that science is progressing rapidly in its understanding of rheumatic diseases.Antibiotics are now used to achieve full remissions for at least 40%, if not 65% of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Do you know anyone suffering from cancer?

If so, how has it affected your family?
Answer:
My mother in law is battling breast cancer now. It has spread to her lungs and to other tissues. She is getting treatment from the Cancer Treatment Centers Of America(the closest one to us is in Tulsa, OK) They have told her they cant cure it that they can just treat it with chemo and hopefully giver at least a few more years. Its been really hard financally with my father in law having to take off and I have taken her to some treatments to. All last year we did the chemo and then radiation and finished up 1rst week of december well they did scans after that and said she had no cancer anywhere well by march it was back and had spread to all the other places and was even bigger than it was intially. Its hard never knowing if today or tommorrow will be her last. We are just trying to make the rest of the time she has as happy and give her some good memories for when she worsens. I have a almost 6 year old and a 4 year old and am trying to let them spend as much time as she feels up to them being there with her. Holidays are now a big deal because we never know if this is the last one. Hope this answer answers your question.
My aunt used to have cancer. She lived far away, and we would go see her a lot. Every time my mom talked to her on the phone, it would be so bad, she'd cry, then everyone else cried. She died of it eventually.
I am. It doesn't seem to affect anyone as much as it does me. I happen to be fairly young. People think my aches and pains are depression but I know better.Only time will tell
My daughter who is 48 has just been diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. It is pulling the whole family together right now, but she hasn't started chemo yet and that terrifies me. We will find out more Monday.

Do you know about the titanic?

ifso tell mee about it
Answer:
It was a huge, luxury ocean liner that was sailing to america, but it never made it because it sank in the middle of the ocean after hitting an iceberg. The iceberg punctured holes along the side of the ship and it began to fill with water. Almost everyone died.
it hit an iceberg and sank..end of story
yes ship hit iceburg ship sank people died in 1912 ii was in april i just cant remember the exact date
Long story about a ship and no time.
it hit an ice berg
the ship sank
and like 10924823 people died
its the love story of jack and rose.
yes it sank think it happened on12th april 1912http://www.titanic-titanic.com/titanic_t...
I think was a big ship that sunk when it hit an iceberg, There may be some kind of movie about it.
Here are a couple of website to help you.
yep i know about it
The Titanic was a ship that was said to be undestructable. It took about 2000 people places but one day in April around 2 a.m. it struck an iceberg. Since the ship was believed undestructable, there were only about half as many life boats (small emergency boats) as was needed. Women and children got on first and then the important men followed. It was extremeley unsafe to be in the water because you would freeze within 3 minutes. If you want more information, try watching TITANIC with Leonardo DiCaprio.
April 1912
Biggest ship ever made (although it did have a twin ship called Britania)
Was carrying the creme de la creme of fashionable rich from Europe to New York.
It hit an iceberg and (although it was advertised and believed to be "unsinkable") it sank in a few hours. Second class, third class and steerage class people were locked inside and most of them died. There werent nearly enough life boats and the few there were were capriciously set afloat half full of rich women.
Over 1500 people froze in the North Atlantic waters - and transAtlatic travel was never the same again.
Big boat, 4 funnels, unsinkable.Sank on her maiden voyage in April 1912 killing about 1000 people.Raised in 1980 in a film, sank again a few years later in another film.Still miles down at the bottom of the Atlantic
The titanic was an ocean liner made by the White Star Line. It was sailing from Ireland to New York on it's first trip. On April 14, 1912 at around 2 am, it struck an iceberg and ended up sinking, and there were only enough lifeboats for a little over half of the people on board. Over 700 people died, about half of the passengers and crew. There is no Jack and Rose. Whoever said that obviously only knows the story through the movie, and that part was fictional. If you want to know about the Titanic, don't just watch the movie. It's good but it doesn't offer enough information about what really happened.
It was sailing from Southampton to New York, stopping in Ireland along the way.
It set had been sailing for three days, when late in the evening of the 3rd day (14th April, 1912), it tragically hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean. It subsequently sank, despite being dubbed as "Unsinkable" and the designer of the ship had even been quoted to say "Even God Himself wouldn't be able to sink this ship".
She sank in the early hours of the morning on 15th April, 1912.To add to the tradegy, the law at the time stated that only a minimum of 16 lifeboats were required for a ship of her size. White Star Line, the owners of the Titanic, had been "generous" in actually putting 20 lifeboats in: which was still only enough for just over half of all the crew and passengers on board.Britain's investigations into the number of deaths came up with 1490 people (the Yanks came up with 1517 deaths). It's still considered to be on of the worst maritime disasters during peace-time ever.Hows that? Hope you learnt something 'cos it took me ages to write that lot up and read up on it myself!

Do you know ?

because of cancer they remove the whole stomach,pancreas,gallbladder,l... intestine due to the advanced developments in the medicine field.for example if they remove the large intestine the water will not absorbed from the waste materials(feacal matter) .if they remove those organs then which will do the functions of those organs?i have read in books that due to the removal of the stomach ,intestine(because of cancer)people are able to develop anemia due to unability of the absorption of the vitaminB12 ,folic acid .
Answer:
Yes thats right but there must be something else in medical studies that support this theory and if it were that we could find another way of functioning without the cancer by removing organs, then i guess thats the only way. I dont think they would remove them if it were to endanger someones life.
the body is meant to have all its parts, living without a whole body is a challenge for the patient and the doctors who care for him.
heard the same about gastric bypass surgery.
First of all, just having cancer in a certain body part does not mean they just up and remove it. They always try chemo and radiation first. Removing the offending part is always a last effort and even then they never remove the whole thing, but only as little as they can.
The kind of surgery referred by you is a sort of last attempt in cases of 4+ stage cancer i.e. cancer which had spread all over. Patient undergoing such an surgery survive for few days or weeks and during such period he/she is provided with supportive care, including I.V. fluids capable of giving required energy for body functions/survival.

Do you have thick calluses on your feet?

yes,my naturally made shoes
Answer:
Well I did until I got psorosis and it sort of ate my feet away, but now that the psorosis is going away the calluses are coming back. They are incredibly thick all over, the worst being at my heels where they tend to crack. My mother, always looking for things to pick on, when I was younger blamed it on me being fat. However, I've been thin for years and the soles of my feet have gotten worse. I do know that the calluses on my toes are there apparently to cover over the bunyons, apparently a lot of calluses are formed because there is something wrong underneath. If you are having really bad problems I do suggest that you go to a foot doctor, either an orthopedist or a podetrist to have your feet checked out just to make sure there isn't something wrong underneath as a lot of times the calluses can be forming to hide a problem underneath, they are a cushion to help with the problem. It's just a suggestion, you may just be walking around barefoot a lot.
yes, the calluses are on my heels.
ugh!i do too...
A calluse is one of ways the body protects the other two layers of skin beneath the skin that is on the outer surface.
It's like a scab. They both are your bodies built in band-aids.
As far as you feet are concerned, a calluse will form on the part of the foot that the most friction is generated .If you have rough cracking heels, that could be a fungus, like athletes foot
fungus.
No I don't
My callouses are pretty thick, but not rough. It's a just a thick layer of skin, not the kind you get from wearing ill-fitting shoes.

If you have pain - what do you take for it? My friend has constant pain and has taken morphine for the past 10 years. In addition he is taking lyrica for pain. It may help but the pain is still there.
Answer:
Drugs: Pain from damage to the nerves in the central nervous system in MS is normally not relieved by the usual analgesics (e.g. aspirin). Do you have HPV ? If so what type ?

Answer:
Yup. the ones that cause cervical cancer and warts. However, I haven't had an abnormal pap or wart in over 5 years.
No and I am getting the gardasil vaccination which I recommend to every female.
I do. I have the high risk. It caused mild dysplasia(precancerous cells) on my cervix. I am 18 years old. I quit smoking and have been taking miltivitamins and doubling up on the folic acid. When the bad cells go away or get treated...the folic acid will form better, healthier cells instead. ive had hpv for about 9+ months. That is when i found out. Email me if you wanna know more.
I have had HPV for as long as I can remember. HPV is the virus that causes warts. I have had warts for as long as I can remember. I think I got it from my mother because she said she has always had warts. I also have type 6, genital warts. It is not fun bt it could be a lot worse. The treatment is the worse part about it. I use Aldara cream and it burns and itches.
I have one or more of high risk HPV types. My HPV is of the vaginal cuff and of the vulva. The FDA approved HPV test does not tell us what specific high risk HPV type or types we have. The hc2 High-Risk HPV DNA Test?(DNAwithPap?* using Hybrid

Do you have callused feet?

Answer:
Yes. If you're wondering how to help this condition, soak your feet in warm water with mineral salts or lotion added to soften the skin for at least 10 minutes. Then you can gently scrub the callused areas with a pumice stone or foot file - this will help remove dead skin. Afterwards, dry your feet and apply lotion, and then put on cotton socks to keep the lotion from coming off too fast. If this procedure is done before bedtime, it will give the lotion a chance to absorb into your feet to help keep them softer.
no
Yes, but not in a nasty or crusty way. The skin is very thick but I guess walking on pavement a lot keeps it smoothed down enough; it's not rough or cracked. I don't use any lotions and never file them down.

Do you have any pain if you have liver cancer? Is a swollen liver anything to do with cancer?

Do you have any medication allergies?

What made you find out, any bad reactions?I am allergic to Vicodin. I took it when I got my wisdom teeth out, and I only took one, and it made me puke for 3 days and lost 9 lbs, and I had to go to the hospital for dehuydration. It sucked.
Answer:
penicillin and keflex---death warrants for me.
this is how most people find out about an allergy. now that you know, make sure your loved ones are aware and it is noted on every medical document.
pennicyllin and arythromycin. i became allergic to pennicyllin years ago because i did not take it as i was supposed to. if i felt better i did not take it and then took it again when i felt sick (for bronchitis or something). you can not do that. i got itchy bumps on my fingers and that was a sign that i became allergic to it, so beware people and take your meds right
Most anti-biotics for me. There are very few I can take. Started having reactions originally with penicillin, (about the age of 12) just rashes. Then it progressively got worse with every time they had to be taken, from rashes, to flu like symptoms and headaches. One even made the back of my eyeballs itch!!
Be sure to carry in your wallet a medical alert card that states what your allergic to. You can make one up right on the computer yourself.
What you experience wasnt an allergy but a typical side effect of Vicodin - puking. You puked so much that you got dehydrated. However, you might have reacted to the anesthesia that may have given you when you have your teeth extracted. Puking is also a typical side effect of anesthesia.
Talk to your oral surgeon about this so you will have a better understanding of what may have happen.
Erthythromycin, bacctram or anything with sulphur in it. I found out the same way you did, nausea vomiting, severe stomach cramps, chills and sweats.
I am allergic to theophylline. I wound up in the emergency room. I lost 11 pounds in three days. I never did get all my strength back. That was years ago.

Do you have any medical information on a condition called "essential thrombocytosis"?

Answer:
Alternative names Return to top
Essential thrombocythemia; Essential thrombocytosisDefinition Return to topPrimary thrombocythemia is the overproduction of platelets without a recognizable cause. Platelets are essential for blood clotting.Causes, incidence, and risk factors Return to topPrimary thrombocythemia is a slowly progressing disorder, caused by overgrowth of a type of cell that is a precursor of blood cells. Although the platelets are primarily affected, the red blood cells and white blood cells are also involved. The disease has similarities to polycythemia vera, chronic myelogenous leukemia, and myelofibrosis. Usually it affects people in middle age. Bleeding can occur from the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, urinary tract, or skin. The formation of blood clots (thrombosis), may occur with bleeding episodes. It may even cause strokes in some people. Risk factors are unknown. The incidence is about 3 out of 100,000 people.Symptoms Return to top * Bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract
* Bleeding from the gums
* Bloody stools
* Dizziness
* Easy bruising
* Enlarged lymph nodes (rare)
* Headache
* Nosebleeds (epistaxis)
* Numbness of hands or feet
* Prolonged bleeding from surgical procedures or tooth extraction
* Ulcers on fingers or toesSigns and tests Return to top * Bone marrow aspiration
* CBC that shows elevated platelet count
* Physical examination may show enlarged spleen or liver
* Uric acid level may be elevatedTreatment Return to topIf a patient has life-threatening complications, platelet pheresis, a procedure to remove platelets from the blood directly, can rapidly decrease the platelet count.Long-term decrease of the platelet count using medications can reduce both bleeding and clotting complications. Most common medications include hydroxyurea, interferon-alpha, or anagrelide. For patients with a known clotting tendency, aspirin may help decrease clotting episodes. Some patients do not need any treatment.Expectations (prognosis) Return to topThe outcome varies. Some people have prolonged periods without complications, while complications related to hemorrhage and thrombosis lead to death in others.Complications Return to top * Acute leukemia or myelofibrosis can develop in some patients
* Severe hemorrhage
* Thrombotic episodes (stroke, heart attack, or blood clots in extremities)Calling your health care provider Return to topCall your health care provider: * If unexplained or prolonged bleeding occurs
* If chest pain, leg pain, confusion, weakness, numbness, or other new symptoms develop
Essential thrombocytosis (ET, also known as essential thrombocythemia) is a rare chronic blood disorder characterized by the overproduction of platelets by megakaryocytes in the bone marrow in the absence of an alternative cause. In some cases this disorder may be progressive, and rarely may evolve into acute myeloid leukemia or myelofibrosis. It is one of four Myeloproliferative Disorders.

Do you have any compassion for the TB man? Do you think he will survive?

Answer:
Actually, the news report I heard yesterday said he wasn't even symptomatic. So its possible that he is a carrier...that does happen with TB. As to whether I feel compassion for him, for me, the jury is out. His story and the CDC's story are entirely different. If what HE said is true and that he was never fully informed of the severity of his illness before he started traveling, then yes, I can sympathize with him. Once he did find out, he says he panicked...which I can totally understand. If I were that sick I would want to get back to the US for treatment. I don't believe I would have done it the way he did, but I can at least understand the feelings. However if the CDC's side of the story is true and the guy DID understand the severity of his illness and knowingly put others at risk, then no, I don't have any compassion for him. He was selfish, at the very least.
i'm sorry he's got tb but i don't feel bad for him. he'll survive. he needs to be responsible for the medical bills incurred by the people he may have infected.
I think he will survive. Even his wife is not positive for TB. He probably did not know how serious the situation was, remember he was getting married and probably that was all he was thinking about.
No, I don't. He's very selfish,self-centered,negligen... He's exactly where he should be until they can find a treatment for his resistant form of TB. Just like that guy a few months ago who was quarantined because he refused to wear a face mask. I mean, come on! Stupid, stupid, stupid guy.
sadly i do not think he is going to survive. as for compassion, i do feel badly for him, yet at the same time i think he was being selfish for not going into solitary confinement when he was told to. he put so many people at risk.
We'll find out in the next 16 days. The strain of TB he has will either kill him VERY quickly (16 days TOPS), or he'll heal VERY slowly. He is quarentined because the type he has does not respond to ANY drugs. It's all up to his body now.
I feel sorry that he is so ill and I hope he recovers. However, new information has come out that he knew that he had TB and had been warned by a doctor that he could pass it on. He inquired if it would be alright to travel if he wore a mask. No one knows yet if the doctor gave him the ok, or if in fact, he wore a mask. TB is so contagious that it would seem outrageous for a doctor to give him approval to fly on an airplane and risk infecting hundreds of other passengers. It has been shown from cases in the past that one passenger with a communicable illness can cause many other passengers to become ill. If this man consciously flew knowing the extent of his illness I think he should be penalized for spreading the illness. There have been cases where people who knowingly infected other people with AIDS were prosecuted. Why should this case be any different? We just have to wait to hear the facts because at this time, the information is sketchy.
I am totally amazed at the responses here.
Talk about politically correct insanity.
If we were talking about an HIV/AIDs sufferer they would be screaming homophobia. But we are talking TB so now all of a sudden a contagious disease with initials is not okay?
Contagious diseases are all over the U.S. and the world, most are preventable. Many people are carriers yet when say its okay for one disease to run rampant and we can't test those people, something is very wrong with the PC picture.
Yes, he probably will survive but I don't have any compassion for him, he's a selfish idiot who should have known better, he's a lawyer not some uneducated labourer who didn't understand the consequences of his actions.
No Compassion, but this incident demonstrates, that there is a great need for preventive healthcare for all, including low income, legal and illeagal immigrants. You never know, who sits next to you at the movies, do you???

Do you have anemia?

If so, please state which kind of anemia it is and the cause of it and the symptoms. You can also include the treatment if you want. Thank you.
Answer:
I have iron-deficiency anemia. I have had it since I was a teenager and the symptoms include fatigue, weakness, paleness of the inner eyelids and hands. I also crave ice, salt, and have even craved paint when it got really bad. I am supposed to take precription iron however the side effects are horrible. the iron is very harsh on my stomach so I control mine through diet and rest. When it is not enough I use the iron reluctantly. Hope this was enough information.
no
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej1_uac-y...
My physician noticed a drop in my hemoglobin and sent me to a hematologist who confirmed it and prescribed an iron compound. Then I was sent to a gastroenterologist who discovered I had an erosive esophagus and when that cleared up, my "anemia" disappeared.
No. I'm sorry you or someone you know does.
i dont have anemia. y do u ask?
I have autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Only 4 out of 100,000 have this type of anemia. There is no known cause for this type of anemia. I was on prednisone for over 2 years, during that time I have a chemo treatment of retuxa but it didn't help me. I is helpful to some but not all. I finally had my spleen removed and for the last 19 months I have had no problems with the anemia. Some people with autoimmune hemolytic anemia may have no symptoms, especially when the destruction of red blood cells is mild and develops gradually. Others have symptoms similar to those that occur with other types of anemia, especially when the destruction is more severe or rapid. When severe or rapid destruction of red blood cells occurs, mild jaundice may also develop. When destruction persists for a few months or longer, the spleen may enlarge, resulting in a sense of abdominal fullness and, occasionally, discomfort. When the cause of autoimmune hemolytic anemia is another disease, symptoms of the underlying disease, such as swollen and tender lymph nodes and fever, may dominate.

Do you have a wheat allergy?

I just found out I might be allergic to wheat!! OMG what will I eat? How do you manage and what kind of things should I get used too? Thanks!
Answer:
I used to be allergic to wheat and gluten for 11 years (but then got healed from it a few weeks ago wooooo!).It's not bad once you get used to it. Do you think you are also allergic to gluten? If so, you will have to watch out for more stuff. Generally, look out for cereals, some processed meats have wheat, wheat starch or wheat gluten in, sauces may use flour as a thickener, cakes, biscuits, bread, pasta, pizza etc. But nowadays main supermarkets have fantastic ranges of allergy food, which often tastes nice. Also, you should be able to get things on prescription, I always preferred prescription bread rather than what you could buy in the shops. You can buy nice cakes and biscuits, and also they are lovely to make when you find a flour you like. The main issue is eating out, but as long as you're prepared, you'll be fine. Some restaurants have gluten free menus (though not many), but if you tell the staff in advance or when you get there they may be quite accommodating. Hope this is helpful!
i have a wheat allergy. basically theres not much you can eat. you get use to it after a while. its stuff like fruit and vegetables and rice, but always read the ingrediants before you buy something

Do you guys really not know why there is an increase in autism and type 1 diabetes, and type 2?

What else has risen in the past 25 years, that isn't a disease?
Answer:
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmunity issue and its not related to lifestyle. I wouldn't be suprised if it is linked with autism however considering I have a child with both. Our family history is all Type 2 diabetes, my child is the first to be Type 1. I seem to see more and more kids with Autism though that have secondary health concerns like diabetes, allergies, etc. Perhaps Autism itself is the result of an autoimmune response. I don't think there is enough evidence in any direction to say what the root cause of Autism is or how it is related to other disorders. I wish there were because I would be first in line to hear the news.
There also is not enough evidence to support the rationale that the increase in autism statistics is only due to increased diagnosics. There IS however evidence showing that there is a genetic predisposition to Autism with and Environmental trigger. I happen to believe it is on the rise. I have two children with the disorder. NO ONE else in either of my or my husbands family has autism.
Lots of things have, but I think in north america our "food" culture is so messed up that we are causing ourselves problems like diabetes.
You are what you eat. When woman are pregnant the should be carefully what they eat, drink or smoking and or do drugs. The Baby might not have health problems directly but later in life. Also you should watch what you eat at all times, eat fresh foods. Try ti minimize fried foods, sugar and carbs.
There isn't an increase in autism. Just in diagnosed autism. The reason for more Type 1 diabetes is devolution. The reason for more Type 2 diabetes is poor lifestyle.
Well, if that theory were true, then all those in biblical times would have been autistic, and the majority of the hundreds of parents I know who are in their 20's wouldn't have autistic kids. The numbers are rising due to more and more toxins in the environment and in our foods, and in vaccines. Paternal age is one of the most ridiculous theories I've heard yet.

Do you get more tired after you had fibrous tumors removed?

Answer:
Not enough information posted.Have you had this done recently? If so, yes! It will take your body approximately six months to totally recuperate from the surgery. Anesthesia and surgery make an impact on all systems in your body and though the worst of anesthesia passes on 24 to 48 hours and the pain of surgery passes in a week or less, the impact to the systems of the body takes longer. Tiredness is a result of your body rebuilding and recuperating. If it has been more than 6 months, I suggest you see your doctor for a complete physical as you may have something new going on.
