The Titanic was a ship that was said to be undestructable. It took about 2000 people places but one day in April around 2 a.m. it struck an iceberg. Since the ship was believed undestructable, there were only about half as many life boats (small emergency boats) as was needed. Women and children got on first and then the important men followed. It was extremeley unsafe to be in the water because you would freeze within 3 minutes. If you want more information, try watching TITANIC with Leonardo DiCaprio.

On April 14, 1912 at around 2 am, it struck an iceberg and ended up sinking, and there were only enough lifeboats for a little over half of the people on board. Over 700 people died, about half of the passengers and crew. There is no Jack and Rose. Whoever said that obviously only knows the story through the movie, and that part was fictional. If you want to know about the Titanic, don't just watch the movie. It's good but it doesn't offer enough information about what really happened.
