Do tonsils depreciate overtime & can have holes in it?

Recently I noticed small white spots on my tonsils but almost no pains at all (unlike what people say about tonsillitus). I went to the specialist and he said my tonsils got small "holes" due to "depreciation" %26 rice gets slipped in. That explains the white spots on it %26 my tonsils in fact, are not infected yet. Surgery will be the only option. I just wonder anyone can share similar experiences here? Or am I having a rare case?
Answer:
No you're not rare but keep your oral cavity as clean as possible to prevent or delay the formation of tonsil stones.
You have rice in your toncils?? I got my toncils out when I was little, they had white spots on them... but I'm not to fond of rice... O.o that is quite odd... i have never heard of that... i think you should get the surgery, and get it over with... toncils dont do anything... just get them out
Tonsils help the body fight infection, but many times, they become infected and if that happens a lot, doctors will recommend their removal.
Rice gets caught in the holes? The holes are THAT big? Sounds strange but who am I to dispute a medical doctor! We can live just fine without them, just like our appendix.
