This isn't anything new. Occasionally there are isolated outbreaks. Its been in the news recently with being implicated in some fast-food restaurant outbreaks. Once contracted though it can be deadly if not treated quickly, especially in young children or the elderly.
it's been around awhile - and caused some deaths.. it causes SEVERE intestinal problems and bleeding.
