Do water kill 99% germs?

Answer:
I don't know about that, but I can tell you about a fascinating experience.
I took biology in college about 10 years ago. We did an experiment. Without warning, we were to swab our hands and put it in a petri dish.
Then, we were to wash with just water, and repeat on another petri dish.
Then we washed with soap, and did it again. The results? Clearly the one without any washing was terrible... tons of growth.
After just water, the dish grew some but less than 25% of the amount of the first.
After washing with soap, there was only a small reduction in population on the dish from with just water. For the record, though, I still wash thoroughly with soap!
no. not even soap, unless its antibacterial. when you wash your hands, its the rubbing or friction that removes thegerms from your hands. unless your soap is antibacterial, it wont (and neither will water) kill germs on your hands
Washing with plain water accomplishes almost nothing. Washing with soap and water gets the germs off. It doesn't kill them, but it gets rid of them.
Water kills about 40
no
no because water hold alot of germs (tap water the is)
if water killed 99% of germs, then why do we have soap ? To smell nice ?
NO.
no it does not, as a matter of fact i have seen bacteria that grow on soap, in dettol, savlon and even in alchohol bottles. up till now iodine with a combination of alchohol and savlon seems to kill off most pathogens (not cysts or eggs of some helminths). so yeah. water does not kill bacteria.
